ABOUT IKF CALIFORNIA
On March 17th, 2014, the California State Athletic
Commission officially delegated to the IKF, International Kickboxing Federation
the exclusive authority to regulate
Amateur Kickboxing (Full Contact
High Kick), International Rules, Full and Modified Muay Thai Rules (Ages
8 and Up)
in the State of California. These pages will serve as the
main information source in progressing California Amateur Kickboxing & Muay
Thai in a positive way.

It is time to "Unite Us All" for
the better here in CA for Amateur Kickboxing & Muay Thai. It's time for ALL
OF YOU reading this to chime in and bring your best ideas to the table for the
greater good of these Amateur fight sports! Keep watch of the

CALIFORNIA plans to have one in each of the 3
designated California regions as noted on the
IKF CALIFORNIA
map. We will be looking for LEADERS in all of these regions.

Work we DO plan
to do, and do so with the help of many of you who are passionate about the
sport.
As for judging decisions from the past, keep in mind that all IKF sanctioned events in California prior to the IKF CALIFORNIA appointment on March 17th, all of the other shows where you see different sanctioning body TITLES, (IKF, ISKA, USMTA, WBC, WKC, MTG, etc. etc) were ALL regulated by the California State Athletic commission. All the Officials on those events were NOT appointed by any of the Sanctioning Bodies. All these event officials were appointed by the CSAC (California State Athletic Commission).
As you will read below, we plan to schedule 3 (4) different
Officials Training FORUMS to start things off in finding the best officials we
can for both Muay Thai and Kickboxing.
We will be scheduling these in:
- Northern California, most likely at the IKF & International Fight Sports Headquarters.
- Central California 1, most likely in the Fresno area.
- Central California 2, most likely in the Bay area.
- Southern California in the Los Angeles area.
We want to see ALL of you as involved as possible and we
NEED individuals who are not afraid to speak their mind.
All of us here at IKF CALIFORNIA are looking forward to working with all of you to make our sport BETTER for EVERYONE!

- PROPOSED IKF CALIFORNIA ADVISORY BOARD
As IKF CALIFORNIA grows, the IKF would like to include anyone who has the passion and desire to better the fight sports of Muay Thai and Kickboxing on the IKF CALIFORNIA Advisory Board. When we first created this page, we posted a lot of names and photos of people we felt may want to be a part of improving Muay Thai and Kickboxing in the State of California. We have not contacted a lot of these individuals because we would like them to know by seeing their name on the page, that we are inviting them to be a part of the board. However, if we do not hear from them within time, we will be removing them one by one. We are also accepting individuals who may not be on the board yet are very passionate about improving Muay Thai and Kickboxing in California. If you would like to be a part of improving these sports, e-mail us with your name and a short bio about yourself, and what role you would like to play in the IKF CALIFORNIA regulatory process. main@ikfkickboxing.com
Our goal with the Advisory Board is to UNITE all organizations under the IKF CALIFORNIA regulatory system. The final advisory board will not be a collection of "Guys who profess their love for Mr. Fossum and the IKF!" The final board will be composed of those having something of quality to offer Kickboxing & Muay Thai here in California. This is NOT going to be an IKF ONLY Party! You can call it a monopoly (Only because the IKF is the only appointed sanctioning body) but you all have our word that we will not take advantage of our appointment as others have.
"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility." - TITLE FIGHTS
Since IKF CALIFORNIA is in charge of "REGULATING" all Amateur Kickboxing & Muay Thai, it does not mean good-bye to title fights of other organizations. Like any regulatory body, promoters can have other sanctioning body titles on their events as long as they are "LEGIT" Title bouts... In other words, fighters must be able to PROVE their winning records as promoters will not be allowed to match-up fighters with losing records or undocumented records for Title Fights. This is something everyone should agree to as to keep the "Credibility" in every title bout the PUBLIC is paying money to come see.
ALL title bouts MUST BE PRE-APPROVED by IKF CALIFORNIA.- IKF CALIFORNIA will approve ALL Fighters for ALL title bouts on ALL IKF CALIFORNIA sanctioned events.
- IKF CALIFORNIA
will allow approved officials confirmed by the Title Sanctioning Body to be
officials of the bout at the promoters additional expense.
- OFFICIALS
IKF CALIFORNIA wants to be able to provide "The BEST of the BEST" when it comes to event Officials for all IKF CALIFORNIA sanctioned events. IKF CALIFORNIA WELCOMES any and all Officials from any and all sanctioning bodies to work as IKF CALIFORNIA Officials. IKF CALIFORNIA will routinely schedule training seminars for timekeepers, judges, referees, inspectors, doctors and event representatives once a month if not more often. These gatherings will also be discussion forums for anyone who is associated in any way with IKF CALIFORNIA be they officials, fighters, trainers and even fight fans to voice their ideas and opinions as to how to improve on the current program.
It is a STRONG Goal of IKF CALIFORNIA to have properly educated and trained officials that have "Yearly" certification courses to attend to continue to be event officials. IKF CALIFORNIA wants to make sure all officials are FULLY trained and skilled on all aspects of the rule styles they will be working as an Official. Here is our plan for these Forums:
- Nor Cal Region, most likely at the IKF & International Fight Sports Headquarters.
- Central Region, most likely in the Fresno area.
- Bay Region, most likely in the Bay area.
- So Cal Region in the Los Angeles area.

IKF CALIFORNIA can assure everyone that this will be no MONEY MONOPOLY as some have referenced another delegated organization have done here in California. The IKF CALIFORNIA fees will be the same fees the IKF has had since 1998. There will of course be some changes IKF CALIFORNIA will have. Here is an example of some of the IKF CALIFORNIA Fees Below:- Fighter License: $40/Year. (Revised January 2017 & 2018)
- Seconds/Cornerman License: $20/Year for Chief Trainers, $40/Year for Assistant Trainers. (Revised January 2016)
- Promoters Yearly License: $300.00. (Revised January 2016)
