KICKBOXING
Coming
Back To
Sacramento, California!
AK Promotions in BACK in the Full Contact
promotions business!
"Those of you who've kept with us and the
International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) know that we never strayed too far away as
we have been growing the sport of kickboxing through other means like the
popular IKF Point Kickboxing Divisions."
Said AK Promotions Johnny
Davis (Right) "IKF Point Kickboxing
is continuing to prove that it's a true incubator for the sport of kickboxing as
we witness more and more fighters starting out in this semi contact division and
moving into the full contact arena more prepared than in the past."
The goal of growing the sport of kickboxing and using
IKF Point Kickboxing as a means to find
talent has always been a part of the plan. That plan has just come a step closer
to reality again
as Davis and his Team are preparing to put on some
of the most exciting Full Contact Kickboxing action under the many styles of
IKF Kickboxing! With talented men and
women who are hungry for a fight, waiting for their chance to showcase their
skills to friends, family and fans, Davis feels assured that they will
have an abundance of talent for fans to witness for a long time.
"It's also our goal to find and build recognizable
champions to the general public. This will take a strategic plan and the right
fighters. Therefore, we hope that others will work with us in promoting quality
shows as well as making us aware of any untapped talents waiting for their
chance to shine."
Davis recognizes that other promoters are putting on
some quality shows in other areas in CA. "We applaud them for keeping
this great sport alive and well. We want to make sure that we respect other
kickboxing promoter's scheduled dates and try and stay as far away from their
event dates as possible in order to try and give everyone an opportunity to be
successful. I hope that they will return the favor."
Davis will start his shows out small and conservative
with plans to grow in larger venues and fights as they increase their following.
"We will do what we can for the fighters but due to the size of the
venue at this time again we have to be conservative. However, it will be a
great way to build the records of fighters, and showcase their skills to family
and friends and prepare them for bigger things to come. Everyone will be treated
with the upmost respect and fairness on our shows as is required with all IKF Sanctioned events."
Davis' First Event will be Sunday, September 6th, 2009
in Rancho Cordova, CA at the Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theatre.
They are currently matchmaking and would like for trainers to send in to them
their fighter (s) information to johnnyd@akpromotions.org
The show will be under the authority of the California State
Athletic Commission and sanctioned by the IKF.
"Thanks again for your past and future support! We look forward to
working with you!" Said Davis.

IKF
Championship Kickboxing
Brings A Little Bit of Vegas To
Rancho Cordova,
California, USA!
AKP Press: The waiting is almost over and
approximately 36 fighters with trainers, family and friends in tow will be
traveling from across the State of California to Rancho Cordova to see if they
can best their opponent in Full Contact Knockout Kickboxing action! So far,
setting up the card has gone pretty smoothly and we hope that all continues to
go well. One thing for sure, fighters and fans are jazzed about the show and
hundreds of them are pledging to come and give their support. Many of them are
curious to see how this will all work in a comedy and dinner theatre but may be
surprise of the ambiance that the club creates for such a show. With a full Bar,
spot lights, ring girls and great music, Las Vegas will feel like a step away as
you enter the fight arena at Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theatre this
Sunday Night!
The sport of kickboxing is definitely one of the most exciting
contact sports in the world. Yes, it had to take a back seat the Mixed Martial
Arts...at least for now but fans will let you know that they love this ultimate
striking sport and will pay to watch it whenever they can. Kick boxers on the
card and around the world are waiting for more opportunities to showcase their
excellent skills and athleticism that's required to excel in this multi tasking
sport. Kickboxing...like boxing takes years to acquire precise timing, speed,
power with hands and feet that few ever get to this level. Although Kickboxing
has been around for many years, there are yet many more years to come before it
reaches it crescendo. The aforementioned statement also goes for the sport of
Mixed Martial Arts...where you have a good puncher, or kicker or grappler but
rarely do you see all of these skills amassed in one fighter. Some would argue
that they are beginning to see this transformation but like Kickboxing, it will
take many more years for mma to reach this pentacle.
For now though, both sports will be able to hold their own as
both of them are exciting and fun to watch! As a promotions' company, AK
Promotions is committed to promoting the sport of kickboxing and looking
for future talented and recognizable Kickboxing champions. It's not that we may
not venture into other areas as we already do, from festivals, to comedy shows,
IKF Point Kickboxing, Grappling and
perhaps even a few MMA shows down the road. However, just know, Kickboxing is
our first love and passion and taking it to new heights is our ultimate goal.
One thing for sure, whatever we do in the area, we will bring that Las Vegas
appeal right to your back yard!
We thank all in advance for their support of the upcoming show
this Sunday, September 6th at Tommy T's

AK Promotions
Scores A Knockout Show With Sellout Results!
Caley
Scott Successfully Defends IKF Title!
Photos By Tommy T's Photographer
Chris Kisela
One would have to have been in attendance to describe the
intensity in the room at the Tommy T's Comedy and
Dinner Theatre in Rancho Cordova, CA as IKF
Championship Kickboxing Fight Night kicked off its first show promoted by AK Promotions. The only disappointment you would
have had to deal with was finding a seat as there were none
left. When we say standing room
only, this is not a cliché, it was real and anyone there will tell you
the same. Its clear that Kickboxing is as great as we here at AKP continuously say and we are so thankful for
all of the fighters, trainers, family and friends that attended this excellent
display of Feet and Fists of Fury!
Fighters and fans alike were pumped as the Wait Staff hustled
to get them drinks and food. The music was blaring and the lights aglow giving a
bit of Vegas ambiance as advertised. Announcer Wayne Wilson did an
excellent job and kept with the beat of the night bringing each fighter to the
ring with excitement and enthusiasm one would expect as such and event. Singer
Lisa Gardenia did an awesome and very professional job performing the
National Anthem. In fact, many feel it was her almost perfect delivery of the
Anthem that put a positive start to the event.
In the final bout of the evening, IKF
Amateur Muay Thai California State Champion Caley Scott of Concord, CA
was able to hold on to his title with a close decision win over the tough Robert
Cornejo of Milpitas, CA in a rematch. Pictured above/right, Scott
shows Cornejo and future challengers of his IKF
title that he can take a punch!
Also, seasoned IKF Point
Kickboxing star Jesse Agricula of Sonoma, CA fell a little short in his
first attempt in full contact in one of, if not the best fight of the night
against talented Quincy Schoeman of Oakdale, CA. Although disappointed
after his loss, Argricula can easily redeem himself as he fought like a
warrior from start to finish. The crowd really got into this one and perhaps
somewhere down the road these two will meet again. With a win over Agricula,
Schoeman proved he is clearly one to watch.
Daniel Hodges of Rocklin, CA continues to move forward
after defeating Laku Pellici of San Francisco. In one of the most
exciting fights of the night, Super Heavyweight Casey Knowles of
Oakdale, CA and Joel Morris of Vacaville, CA had the crowd on their feet
throughout the fight! Both men showed a lot of guts and grit. However, the crowd
often responded to the light footed Joel Morris as he came out of his
corner with an arsenal of acrobatic kicks that were beautifully displayed and
often landed clean. But Knowles hung in there strong as this fight would
end in a well deserved draw.
Thanks again to everyone for assisting us in our quest for the
Next Great Kickboxing Champion!
Next event is tentatively set for Sunday, December 6th, 2009.
