HEADGEAR
IS MANDATORY FOR ALL FIGHTERS UNDER 18 YEARS OLD AND MANDATORY
FOR ALL FIGHTERS WITH LESS THAN 3 BOUTS
- OPTIONAL HEADGEAR RULE
- This Rule Option Applies ONLY to Amateur ADULT Fighters,
Ages 18 and older.
- HEADGEAR
OPTION
ONLY FOR FIGHTERS OVER THE AGE OF 18
- Must have a MINIMUM of 3 fights.
- Must have a WINNING Record.
- If not a winning record, must have OVER 3 Fights.
- If not a winning record over 3 fights, the total number of wins x 2 must be
equal to or greater than the total number of loses.
- If there is a Fighter with less than three bouts VS another with three or
more bouts both must wear IKF Approved
Headgear.
- At ANY time, If any fighter loses 3 consecutive bouts by KO/TKO (No
matter how the bout was stopped), they will be required to wear headgear in
their future bouts until the IKF clears
them as an experienced fighter, able to shed their headgear.
- DETERMINED IN MATCHMAKING: If one fighter chooses to wear Headgear
both must wear Headgear.
- There can be no mix-matching during a contest however so that if one
fighter opts for headgear then both fighters are required to wear it.
- ANY IKF Promoter seeking approval to
have an IKF Sanctioned Amateur bout on
their event where the competitors do not wear headgear, must have the fighter's
who wish not to wear headgear fill out the Official "IKF AMATEUR OPTIONAL HEADGEAR APPLICATION"

- These forms ALL NEED TO BE Submitted to the IKF Headquarters for approval a minimum of 10
DAYS PRIOR to ANY IKF event they wish
to have these fighters fight on. If a fighter does not get his/her form to the
IKF by the 10 day deadline, BOTH
Fighter's in their bout will be required to wear headgear.
- FINES & SUSPENSIONS
- If an IKF Sanctioned Promoter allows
an Amateur Fighter(s) to fight on an IKF
Sanctioned event without the above background requirements and without headgear,
the Promoter, Fighter and Trainer will be fined and suspended as follows:
- Promoter: $2,500.00 Fine per Fighter, 1 Year suspension from
promoting.
- Trainer: $1,500.00 Fine, 1 Year suspension from Being a
Second/Cornerman on an IKF Sanctioned
Event.
- Fighter: $500.00 Fine, 1 Year suspension from Fighting on an IKF Sanctioned Event.
- IF the Trainer/Fighter submit a falsified background to the Promoter and it
is discovered by the IKF PRIOR to the
fight, the fighter will not be allowed to fight on the proposed event and as a
Penalty for doing so, the Trainer and Fighter will be fined and suspended as
follows:
- Trainer: $1,000.00 Fine, 3 Month Suspension from Being a
Second/Cornerman on an IKF Sanctioned
Event..
- Fighter: $500.00 Fine, 3 Month Suspension from Fighting on an IKF Sanctioned Event.
- IF the Trainer/Fighter submit a falsified background to the Promoter and it
is discovered by the IKF AFTER the fight
takes place, as a Penalty for doing so, the Trainer and Fighter will be fined
and suspended as follows:
- Trainer: $1,500.00 Fine, 6 Month Suspension from Being a
Second/Cornerman on an IKF Sanctioned
Event..
- Fighter: $1,000.00 Fine, 6 Month Suspension from Fighting on an
IKF Sanctioned Event.
The following Rules STILL apply in
regards to Headgear on
IKF Sanctioned bouts.
- MANDATORY HEADGEAR RULE
- ALL Amateur Fighters under the age of 18 in an IKF
Sanctioned bout MUST WEAR Headgear.
- ALL Amateur Fighters who have less than 3 confirmed bouts fighting on an
IKF Sanctioned event MUST WEAR
Headgear.
- ALL Amateur Fighters Fighting in an IKF
Sanctioned Amateur Tournament MUST WEAR Headgear regardless of fighters
age or experience.
- Only "COMPETITION"
Approved Headgear will be allowed, NOT "Training" Headgear.
