Mr. Pete Foley Presents
With the recent success of the IKF Ireland Junior National Championships its time now to concentrate on the Seniors. The IKF brought in a National Championships for novice adults last year to give them a chance to compete among their peers without the danger of giving away too much experience. The whole idea is to give Novice fighters with no more than THREE fight experience in any Full Contact Fight Code/Rule Style (eg: one kickboxing, one K-1, one MMA or two boxing and one thai boxing etc) a chance at a NOVICE National Title and we rely solely on the honesty & integrity of the coach to supply us with the correct information. The plan is to have the fighters fight off in a tournament
style format to an eventual winner and gain some valuable experience along the
way. Last years competition was a huge success and we hope it will be even
better this year. This is open to ALL fighters regardless of their Organization
or Affiliation. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to
your reply.

This delegation of overseeing Kickboxing and Muay Thai in
California has been no easy work... There have been too many of these "Self Proclaimed" experts who take some of these comments as fact and jump on their attacking bandwagon and off they go... And even if there's a truthful thread made, there are still those who have NO IDEA about the legalities and regulatory process of the sport, but yet, they have their claimed answer on how to solve an issue they believe we screwed up on... By the end of the day, I'm often emotionally drained from ignorant individuals who's only point was to try and drag the IKF through the mud with false accusations, name calling and of course, those who claim they know everything about the legal issues, safety and regulatory aspects of this sport, yet have NEVER done it. I have regulated and operated the IKF sanctioning body for over 22 years and our ISCF organization for the last 15 years. Simply put... I know my job. I know my job just as other trainers and fighters say they know theirs, yet you don't see me making up threads telling fighters and trainers what they are doing wrong. Instead, my post are made to inspire others, not force them to defend themselves on of all things, a social media page... Everything above needed to be said... "Here, outloud." I have shared this frustration with others, but after this past weekend, I needed to post this now because even though we all had a great event (Actually 2) this past weekend, it was actually the comments made to me by one individual who made my day. Andrew Capurro had just won his IKF title and could have left to go home right after the event. However instead, he took a few extra moments, IKF Belt in hand, to show his thankful appreciation of winning his belt that night. But it was not that he did so, as many do, it was what all he said that was so meaningful and it was his words that changed my feelings about all the internet warriors out there attacking everyone they can, and not just me. You see, no matter who you are, there are always going to be plenty of people out there who hate you but have never met you, are jealous of you, but have no idea what you do, who talk behind your back, yet have no idea who you really are... and no matter what you say or do to try to help them feel better about what they're angry, jealous or upset about, they will never change... They will never change because what you are seeing is WHO these individuals TRULY are... I'm not just talking about me, I'm talking about EVERYONE reading this. ALL of you have had someone attack you in some way, whether on social media, in person, a text, whatever. Although they may have strength, these are not strong people who do these things. Although they may win some fights or battles in life, they are not REAL Champions. Although they may have many followers, these people are not Leaders... If you want to be a great person, a great Leader, you need to inspire those around you, not attack them. You need to help those around you, not push them down. You need to do the right thing, even though it may not be the popular thing to everyone. In the end, it all comes down to Integrity... Do you have it or not? As Dwight David Eisenhower once said, "The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football field, in an army, or in an office." So as I bring this to an end, I need everyone here to know that it's the little things that can really change the way you feel about something. What Andrew Capurro did Saturday night reminded me WHY I do what I do. I do what I do because I never had an opportunity to fight for an organization like the IKF or more so, to have the chance to win Title belts like we award with the IKF Title Promoters out there. I do what I do, not for me, as it's never been about me. I do it for all those Andrew Capurro's out there who truly appreciate the opportunity his friends, family, trainers, event promoters and us here at the IKF have given him. True appreciation for winning something he has longed for and strived for every day in his gym. I do what I do for others, or as the Dalai Lama once said, "Our prime purpose in this life is to help others." Thank you Andrew Capurro. You and other like you have helped us
all see a brighter light at the end of each day and made some of us want to go
that extra mile yet again, to help those around us... |
