"If you have never watched this, YOU NEED TO!"

It was back on November 13th, 2013 that I made my first announcement to many of you and urged you to seek out your cable guides to watch this documentary.

That post can be found by clicking HERE.

However, here I am almost 2 years later, and this time, I discovered this program can now be watched on Vimeo.com. After watching it again, I'm still just as impressed as the first time I saw it.

Love them, hate them, "Jealous" of them...
Regardless of your feelings of the UFC or even MMA today, this documentary is by far one of the best things put together detailing the story of the UFC and more so, a lot of the history of MMA.

"Fighting for a Generation: 20 Years of the UFC" shows a less arrogant side of people like Dana White (Who has a less arrogant side he never shows to the public) and how those behind the $$ that leads the UFC Charge ( Frank Fertitta III and Lorenzo Fertitta) felt about the eventual mega machine of the UFC in it's growing years.

How they almost gave it away...
But after a nights sleep, changed their mind to give it another shot...

I've watched this documentary at least 5-6 times, all the way from start to finish. The back story is amazing, ESPECIALLY from a business perspective. You don't have to love or even like MMA to enjoy it. There are many lessons to be learned here... Question is, what lessons will you learn after watching it...? When your ready to take an hour to watch it, DON'T let yourself be interrupted... By the end, it will be easy to absorb the pride these guys must have after seeing this thing through in the early years... Enjoy...

Great Junior show down in Waterford on Sunday in Billy O Sullivan's Gym. Nice turnout from everyone considering it's almost the end of August. Full marks to all the parents for bringing their kids along, especially after all the expense of the summer holidays such as summer camps, holidays, back to school expenses of next week, books, uniforms etc. The kids will get great benefit from the event as it's these little Gym shows that serve as a great platform towards future big events and a great place to learn to even settle their nerves in front of a crowd.

We've been bringing Juniors to similar events for decades now and some of them have gone on to travel the Globe and even win World Titles. The coaches who travelled can also hold their heads up high as they unselfishly gave up their Sunday to try and better their students and get them some invaluable experience. It may not always be convenient... It may be a long way... It may mean giving up your only rest day... It may mean you might have to sacrifice that Saturday night out with the wife or the lads and get to bed at a reasonable hour as you'll have an early start the next morning... But at the end of the day, we're Martial Artists and this is what we do. Long may we continue!

We're excited about the progress of the 3rd Annual IKF East Coast Muay Thai Kickboxing Classic Tournament that will be held in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina the weekend of October 9th and 10th, 2015. This event, held at the beautiful Crown Reef Resort Hotel, located "Right On The Beach", will be one that will have a unique brand of entertainment in the fighting industry combined with a classic tournament setting!

Friday night, October 9th will start the brackets and championship matches. However, fighters will enjoy DJ music and ring announcements as they enter the ring with champions being crowned on the very first night of action.

"It is our goal to keep the IKF East Coast Classic more like a regular fight event, but unique in it's action." Says Tournament Promoter Johnny Davis of AK Promotions. "Giving it a personal touch so that each participate will feel special and get a real fight- night experience throughout the entire two day tournament preparing them for bigger days to come! This event will revolutionize tournaments going forward! Additionally, we're excited to see the diverse states that are registering for the tournament including those from Canada which shows that the word has gotten out about this exciting event!".

Saturday, October 10th will not be much different as fighters will still have their ring walks with music and cheering fans to boot! Ring Announcer Bruce Foster who has announced some of the all time greats of boxing and thousands of MMA and Kickboxing events across the country will keep the action going both days!

Fighters will compete in Modified Muay Thai, Unified and International Rules styles to see who is the best!

Additionally, up and coming Superstar in the UFC and undefeated IKF Kickboxing Champion, Steven "Wonderboy" Thompson of Simpsonville, South Carolina (Pictured Right) is set to be on hand to meet and greet and enjoy all the action!

We're at the beginning of our second of Five Deadlines and are hoping many more will join our Limited four fighters per bracket to see who can claim the attractive IKF East Coast Championships Belts for Open Division and Large Cups for Novice Division. We will again have exciting IKF Point Muay Thai Kickboxing Tournament on Saturday night October 10th starting at 6:30 PM.
