International Kickboxing Federation sanctioned action returned to the Azalea City on February 24th thanks to new IKF promoter, Kamrin Naville. Promoter Naville was congratulated by IKF Referee Josh Rutgers for holding, "A great event for the community!" that Naville held at his 5,000 square foot American Top Team Valdosta martial arts facility! Young new kickboxing stars emerged and senior fighters battled in this full card of IKF Kickboxing which was SOLD OUT BEFORE THE DOORS OPENED!

The star of the show was the youngest fighter present, Anthony "Lil Man" Saeger. Saeger was a BIG MAN in the cage on Saturday night! Saeger dominated his tough opponent in this sophomore outing, having fallen short in his debut some time back. Saeger fought like a seasoned fighter with a great control of the space between the fences. Incredibly tenacious, he used superior distance management, kicking, and boxing skills to end the contest in the second round via TKO.

The oldest fighters at the event both walked away as heroes after battling to the end of their 3 round bout. Novice fighter Tommy Nijem took on the experienced local amateur boxer Jose Perez in an IKF kickboxing match that had the electrified crowd on their feet. After the match, Perez posted to this Facebook that he saw stars when Nijem landed a spinning backfist in the second round. Perez also wrote that he, "Still couldn't feel his leg." However, in characteristic style, Perez found his target often with his boxing to barely edge out Nijem on the scorecards.

Other stand out performances included Chelsea Rorer, Seth Carlo, Jordan Nash, Gerald Davis, Charles Hayes and more. Gaining the respect of their opponents and the crowd through gameship and determination despite losing were Dusty Carter and Logan Dunn.

These fighters were congratulated at the preliminary rules and safety meeting for competing on the first full IKF Kickboxing card in Valdosta in almost 15 years. Fighters were encouraged to look to their futures as UFC stand out Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson had fought in the main event on IKF cards at several of those past shows in the Azalea City.

IKF Promoter Naville, excited by the success of this event, looks to hold more IKF shows soon so attention to all those southeastern kickboxers, you should contact him soon to register for his next IKF event.

"IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing Sparring Tournament"

Mr. Ron Hilton did a great job hosting his 2nd Sports Jujitsu tournament that including divisions for IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing Sparring! It was a quaint group that gathered for kickboxing action that delighted the fans in attendance! The sports Jujitsu portion had a good turnout and by the looks of it, everyone had a great time and the fans enjoyed that action as well! We also re- introduced our Semi Contact Boxing Program we call Point Boxing©… We hope to add more opportunities for this division for our promoters in the coming months.

Mr. Hilton who is the Southeastern Regional Director for the American Jujitsu League in this area… made clear of his commitment to building both the Sports Jujitsu along with IIKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing The jacket he wore spelled it out!

He will be leading the charge for IKF Point Muay Thai / Kickboxing Sparring divisions in the American Jujitsu league' tournaments across the country this year! These aforementioned events will be coordinated with our other IKF / PKB events to assure continued success for all of our promoters. More information on our partnership with the American Jujitsu league and Mr. Hilton to come. As a former fighter and current referee and judge as well as he has an eye for fighter safety, the future is looking even brighter for Mr. Hilton.

Both of these sports involves semi contact strikes and complement each other and you will probably see more of Sports Jujitsu which also has grappling…in some of our current IKF / PKB Promoters' events. Events cannot conflict with other sports Jujitsu events sanctioned by the AJL . These events will be overseen by Mr. Hilton.

Point Boxing is a programmed with developed shortly after the IKF / PKB was created in 1995. The Point Boxing Concept is the same as the Point Kickboxing and is based on points and no knockouts allowed. We are hoping to revive our Point Boxing Divisions in the coming months.
