FLORIDA STATE ATHLETIC COMMISSION

ADVANCED MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

FOR FIGHTERS OVER THE AGE OF 35 TO AGE 51.

The added "Advanced Medical" Requirements are a mandated requirement of the Florida State Athletic Commission.

Here is the list of what you need to have sent in no later than
5:00 PM, June 10th, 2021
to the IKF headquarters by e-mail in scanned pdf documents from your Medical Doctor, MD.

  • ALL FIGHTERS OVER AGE 35 TO AGE 51
    As required by the Florida State Athletic Commission.
    As required by the Florida State Athletic Commission fighter's who have reached 35 years of age or will reach 35 years of age prior, on, or during the competition dates of the IKF World Classic Tournament will be required to submit the following to the IKF ON OR BEFORE 5:00 PM - THURSDAY, JUNE 10th, 2021 to be approved to fight at the IKF World Classic Tournament.

    1. FULL PHYSICAL
      From a Licensed Physician prior to their match. To download this form for your Doctor; CLICK HERE.

    2. MEDICAL APPROVAL
      Written Approval from a Licensed Medical Doctor. The medical doctor who gave the physical must give you written approval on his medical doctors letterhead stating that he approves you medically fit to compete in an IKF Sanctioned event.

    3. FIGHT ABILITY - VERIFIED APPROVAL TO COMPETE
      Written Approval of your Fighting Ability AND Fitness/Cardio Level from a Qualified Trainer who will be your bout cornerman.

    4. CURRENT ID
      Drivers License, Federal ID Card or Certified copy of birth certificate. If approved by the IKF to compete, this same copy of identification will be required by the IKF Event Representative at time of weigh-ins of the scheduled bout. If not able to provide, the fighter will be pulled from the bout and will NOT be allowed to fight.

      Echo Cardiogram.

    6. MRI OR C.A.T. SCAN OF HEAD.
      Of the brain No Contrast.

    7. EYE EXAM
      By a Licensed Opthamologist ( Ophthalmologist ) or Optometrist ONLY. Must be a Dilated Eye Exam.

    8. BLOOD TESTS
      Report of physical examination including an original laboratory report with the fighters name and the date of the blood tests which will include: HIV Test The HIV test must be done within 30 days of submitting all requirements to become licensed. Hepatitis B Surface Antigen Test. Hepatitis C Antibody Test. The Hepatitis B & C tests can be done within the calendar year. CBC, chemistry panel including electrolytes, creatinine, liver function.

To Extensive? Well, in our professional opinion from sanctioning events for over 30 years, and seeing what EVERY other state in the Nation requires, YES! We believe these are way too extensive for "AMATEUR" Fighters, not to mention EXPENSIVE! However, it is what it is. We feel the California State Athletic Commission {CSAC} requirements are far more superior and much better based for AMATEUR Fighters. The IKF and CSAC Mandatory Advanced Medical Requirements begin at 40 years old, NOT 35. MRI's are not required until the age of 46.

Regardless, as many here know, EVERY State Athletic Commission for whatever reason feels they need their own mandated requirements, and when holding an event in these states, all promoters and sanctioning bodies need to follow them. So, regardless what anyone else thinks, ALL FIGHTERS over the age of 35 are required to submit all the required Advanced Medical tests, documents etc. as noted on this page here by 5:00 PM, June 10th, 2021 to the IKF headquarters by e-mail { main@ikfkickboxing.com } in scanned pdf documents from your Medical Doctor, MD.
