We know it took a long time to post the 2015 IKF World Classic Host Hotel and Date, but we assure you, our hard work in negotiating the deal for the IKF World Classic is well worth the wait.
Last year we were able to bring the cost of the room rates down about $5- $10.
Well, for 2015, we did MUCH BETTER!
Also, after the 2013 Classic, many of you asked us to find a location closer to more restaurants and other activities. Although we accomplished this, we believe we did FAR BETTER for 2015 in this area too!

Last year we partnered up with Disney and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. Although this was a Great Partnership, many of you still asked for more...
So we got more...

And finally, many of you asked us to find a way to keep some distance between the IKF Classic and other summer Tournaments...

"MUAY THAI BOXING"

There's nothing like "Teamwork" when it comes to promoting events and this past weekend, the Teamwork of Daniel Gutierrez (R) and his Defiant Promotions crew played like a Super Bowl Champion. Some attending may have thought promoter errors forced an hour delay in the event but the truth is, the Ambulance company was who delayed the event. Contract papers clearly showed Gutierrez ordered an Ambulance crew staffed with an EMT and a Paramedic. However, when the crew arrived, event ringside Physician Dr. Gatus pointed out that instead of a Paramedic, the EMT's partner was a nurse...

Calls to the Ambulance company were made, apologies by them given, but that didn't help the fact that everyone had to wait until the correct crew arrived over an hour later. Still, the eager crowd was surprisingly patient, which was greatly appreciated by all of us behind the scenes.

When the action started, it never stopped. One by one each of the 28 amateur Muay Thai fighters made their way to the ring to do battle. most were beginners on a stage fit for a king. When it was all over, Gutierrez along with the Teamwork of his brother, wife and others on the Defiant Team were given the green light to sit back, take a deep breath and be proud of what they just accomplished.

What they accomplished was a packed, standing room only house. In fact, this was the first event where we were actually considering putting a stop to ticket sales because there was no where left for anyone to sit. Still, all inside found a place they were comfortable with and enjoyed a great night of some great Muay Thai Action!

Gutierrez is looking at February 7th for his next event and if confirmed, you may want to put it on your calendar because you don't want to miss the next one. Congratulations to first time Promoter Daniel Gutierrez and his Defiant Promotions Team. All of us here at the IKF are looking forward to working with you more in the future.

This was strictly for fighters with no more than 3 fight experience in any fight style and everything went smoothly throughout the day. The competition was open to all clubs/associations etc throughout Ireland. Registration opened at 9am and closed at 11:30am. The medicals were from 10am and the tournament started around 12:15pm and was all wrapped up by 4.15PM.

With the recent success of the IKF Ireland Junior National Championships it was time to concentrate on the Seniors.

The IKF brought in a National Championships for novice adults last year (2013) to give them a chance to compete among their peers without the danger of giving away too much experience. The whole idea was to give Novice fighters with no more than THREE fight experience in any Full Contact Fight Code/Rule Style (eg: one kickboxing, one K-1, one MMA or two boxing and one thai boxing etc) a chance at a NOVICE National Title and we relied solely on the honesty & integrity of the coaches to supply us with the correct information.

The plan was to have the fighters fight off in a tournament style format to an eventual winner and gain some valuable experience along the way. Last years competition was a huge success and it was every bit as good this year. It was open to ALL fighters regardless of their Organization or Affiliation and we would like to sincerely thank all the fighters, coaches, clubs etc for supporting the championships.

Huge thanks also to all the set up crew, registration staff, officials, door staff, glove runners, corner staff and to anybody who helped in any way, shape or form to make the day a great success.

IKF/PKB Representative Mr. Terry Morgan reports a great event for IKF Point Kickboxing promoted by Mr. Ignacio Trejo of KO1 Fitness of Hayward. Although this event was done in a make-shift floor ring (which is not the standard for an IKF/PKB event, and will be reviewed in more detail) the IKF/PKB rules of semi-contact were closely adhered to. No knockouts and No injuries occurred. "Men, women and children enjoyed a great day of semi contact sparring action that will indeed help enhance their skills while growing the sport of Kickboxing." noted Johnny Davis, President of the IKF Point Kickboxing, arm of the IKF.
