Dragon News...
Don "The Dragon" Wilson
Attends Press Conference in Turkey

As we reported on earlier this month on March 7th, 11 Time World Champion Kickboxer Don "The Dragon" Wilson will be fighting on an IKF sanctioned Kickboxing event in Istanbul, Turkey. Wilson's bout will be a 10 round non title bout under K-1 rules.

The event has been confirmed for the month of September 2013.

As of this time we have heard several different names for the event which include "Victory Night in Istanbul 2013" "Dragon Jubilee", "Victory Anniversary Night 2013 in Istanbul" but the name is no issue with us here as all we know is that this event is a Go!

Wilson attended a press conference last week that was held and sponsored by the Ramada Istanbul Asia Hotel.

"i am excited about this night of glory coming true for all involved." said Wilson.
"I want to make a great introduction to the global arena in Turkey & Istanbul.
I am proud that you have taken the first step with me for such a memorable night. I was very happy and surprised to be given a proposal for this event. If I win on this night, perhaps this may not be my last fight. Even at 58 years old, I still feel refreshed mentally and physically and I will be more than ready."

Martial Arts
And The World Lose

David Ayers

From Brooks Mason
Last night at 10:30 PM David Ayers passed away. His wife Lynda was with him and said he went peacefully.

He was a great martial artist, holding the rank of 10th Dan. He left many Black Belts throughout America who will, I know, carry on his love for the arts and his way of life. He was a Vietnam veteran, a Marine, who was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Celebrate his life.

Work out harder than you ever have. Be proud to be an American. Be a stand up guy no matter what the cost. He would like that. It was how he lived his life and I will miss him a great deal.

Semper Fi Dave.

Glory 5 London
IKF Champions Wakeling & Hunt Victorious!
London, England
Gloryworldseries.com

The torch was passed in kickboxing's heavyweight division today as Tyrone 'King of the Ring' Spong stopped Remy Bonjasky in the second round of the GLORY 5 LONDON main event.

An overhand right sent Bonjasky to the canvas and brought a sold-out ExCel Arena to its feet at the midway point of the second round. It was clear as soon as he was knocked down that Bonjasky would not be able to beat the count and Spong threw his arms up in triumph.

"Remy Bonjasky is a legend in the sport. It was a hard fight and I know now why he was such a dominant champion. Now I am looking forward to my next challenge, I want to build my legacy in this sport and I am ready to take on anyone in the heavyweight division," Spong said in his dressing room afterwards.

"In two weeks there's a fight between Gokhan Saki and Daniel Ghita at GLORY 6 in Istanbul. I want to fight both of those guys and I'm also ready to go straight in to a heavyweight title shot against Semmy Schilt. Whatever GLORY wants, I'm ready."

Bonjasky was warmly applauded when he eventually regained his feet and addressed the crowd, telling fans he had "given everything" in his comeback. "It's hard when your 37 years old and trying to make a comeback. But all credit to Tyronem" he said.

"I don't know [what's next] yet. It's hard to make a good comeback. My comeback has been rocky. I've done my best, I've done everything, but my body says it's hard."

It was a night of mixed fortunes for British fans, who saw Jordan Watson dominate Steve Moxon for most of their lightweight meeting but then saw Watson's team mate, Liam Harrison of the Bad Company Gym, stopped in the first round by a Mosab Amrani body shot in what was the biggest upset of the evening.

But knockout of the night probably belonged to Bonjasky protégé Danyo Ilunga. He stopped French prospect Stephane Sussperregui in the first round by way of a jumping knee against the ropes. The knee not only dropped Sussperregui but broke his nose in the process and made a spectacular finish for Ilunga's highlight reel.

Developmental talents Eddie Walker and Dustin Jacoby, both of whom entered GLORY via the ROAD TO GLORY USA feeder series, took on huge challenges in the form of former IKF European Champion Stephen Wakeling and Michael Duut respectively. Walker was outclassed by Wakleing before succumbing to leg kicks in the second round while Jacoby, riding a three-fight streak of KO wins into the fight, was knocked down three times in the first to lose by knockout under the 'three downs in one round' rule.

March 16th, 2012 - Billingham, England

IKF
Junior Amateur FCR
5 Nations Bantamweight Title
(Vacant)
Steven Raybould

(Billingham, England, 11-1, 55.05kg, 5'8", 09-15-96, Ron Gray, 00447939130942)
James Ward
(Galway, Eire, 12-1, 54.7kg, 5'7", 12-20-95, Peter Foley, 087 8119227

Originally scheduled as a British Title defence for Steve Raybould, this bout was upgraded at the 11th hour following the withdrawal of original opponent Anthony Edwards. The replacement, Irish champion James Ward (arriving at 12-0) was deemed credible enough to pitch this battle at 5 Nations level.

This turned into an absolute war showing pure Kickboxing skills. Both fighters put their combinations together well but it was Raybould who looked stronger throughout, winning all the rounds on the judges scorecards. This did not tell the whole story as some of the rounds were very close and it was not a one sided contest at all. The contest was secured in the 4th when Raybould dropped Ward with a stylish combination. The Irishman was up quickly but looked to have lost the fire in his belly. It is worth mentioning that this was a short notice contest for Ward and when these two meet again, as they surely will, it could be a much closer fight. But today, it's congratulations to Steve Raybould!

WINNER: Steve Raybould by unanimous decision 50-44, 50-44, 50-44

IKF
Junior Amateur FCR
Northern Area Lightweight Title
(Vacant)
Jordon Trainer

(Billingham, England, 4-3, 59.9kg, 5'7", 05-23-97, Ron Gray, 00447939130942)
Ryan Kirk
(Durham, England, 5-3, 60.0kg, 5'9", 02-10-96, Wes Fagan, 0191 4169180 )

This one was an absolute cracker with two equally matched fighters on their way up. Jordan Trainer started well and looked to have the measure of Kirk, taking the first round on all cards. However the middle rounds were all about Ryan Kirk who stepped up a gear and beat Trainer to the punch and kick for most of the time. As we entered the 4th the pace had taken it's toll on both men but they dug deep with Trainer taking the round. This set it up for a result that hinged on the final round. Both fighters knew this and came out harder and faster to tray and secure the belt. But it was Ryan Kirk who just powered ahead at the close to clinch a well earned victory!

WINNER: Ryan Kirk by unanimous decision 48-47, 48-47, 48-47.

Service: Our Higher Purpose
Written by mentor, coach, official, fighter: Buck Grant

As a fighter and student, I found myself focusing primarily on my own goals and dreams. Training helped me discover myself and live a more skillful, thus happier life. However, an interesting shift has occurred in my career in the last 10 years or so. I became a coach and began to shift my focus to my students and fighters. My mission became to teach, lead and inspire others to achieve their dreams through the martial arts, and I am proud to say that I have done just that. I have enjoyed sharing my experiences with those willing to learn, which has proven to be more rewarding than fighting ever was. My new journey as a coach has allowed me to produce several national champions who went on to become medalists at the WKA World Championships in several countries, earning me the position of assistant coach to the US National Team. I have been involved with the WKA as a coach for over a decade and it has been a tremendous experience.

However, this year I was called on for a different cause. I was an official, one of 35 judges, timekeepers, and referees whose mission was to provide the sanctioning of the largest, most prestigious ring sport tournament in North America. Coupled with a team of 2 administrators, 6 staff members, 15 volunteers, and the leadership of WKA USA President Brian Crenshaw, (Right) we did not disappoint.

Many of our jobs started Friday night. After a 4-hour weigh in and check in process (and quite a bit of caffeine I might add) the WKA staff went to work on setting up the brackets for the following day. Many of us (including myself) stayed up until 4 am to complete the task, and only sleeping a few hours before waking to begin the tournament on Saturday morning. Nevertheless, the job was done, and we as a team were excited to start a long day of amazing fights.

Over 300 competitors fighting in various arts such as Muay Thai, MMA, Kickboxing and Grappling, came to The Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond, VA to compete. Their mission was to become a National Champion, thus securing their spot on the US National Team that will fight in Italy at the WKA World Championships in September. Accompanying the competitors were the numerous camps and teams that prepared them for the rigors of tournament fighting, a challenge that is part skill, part conditioning, and ALL heart. Representing their camps with pride and honor, each fighter fought numerous times in the course of one weekend, a feat of ironclad and resilience.

And what an amazing weekend it was! The national event always turns out to be a family reunion of sorts. The many warrior tribes of the United States come together to celebrate life through unarmed, physical combat, a life that we embrace all too well. As I stood in the ring, refereeing hundreds of matches, I was in awe and admiration by the level of respect each fighter and camp had with one another. In a world where respect and dignity towards our common man seems to be antiquated, we are an anomaly. Fighting is a ritual that is as old as time itself: One will stand against another to showcase their skill and bravery in honorable combat. In the end, when the final bell rings, both combatants will know more about themselves than before. It is a thing of utmost beauty to watch this event unfold in front of your eyes. As fighters, coaches and officials partake in this ritual together, this ceremony known as a "fight", we see both our sport and our spirits evolve in front of our eyes. It is present moment awareness at its finest. It is the shedding of preoccupation with the past or future, concentrating only on the NOW. A fight is the embodiment of true life, and this weekend was truly alive.

As we crowned new champions and tended to the wounds and words of both victors and the defeated, I continued to come back to the most important word of the weekend: Service. There is no higher purpose than to serve others. Service to the greater good of the entire fighting community is what the WKA stands. Each and every person who offered their weekend to this cause did it out of a love for serving our people. I felt a sense of pride and honor working with such a great group of individuals, some who drove over 8 hours to make this one of the greatest North Americans that I have been a part. Each official wanted to have an impact on the fight world. They wanted to make a difference on a larger scale; to have a greater bandwidth, so to speak, than the confines of their own gyms.

Now as the WKA National tournament has come to an end, I have realized another level to my mission of service. After all, at the end of the day, service is our higher calling as martial arts instructors. We thrive on serving our community; on giving the people that we influence the lifelong benefits of cultivating the mind, body and spirit. Service has been at the heart of the greatest warriors on our planet. The word Samurai, for example, means, "to serve" and so they lived and died for the service of their nation. Our military serves our country both in peace and in war. It is an honor for such warriors to sacrifice and provide for their own kind, and at the WKA nationals, that tradition was continued in the same honorable way.

I for one have served as a trainer of individuals, teams and gyms for most of my adult life. I have enjoyed giving back to my community immensely. Now, as both an official and the assistant coach to the US National Ring Sports Team, I can be of greater impact, not only to our entire nation of fighters, but to the entire world. I am extremely grateful to Kru Brian Crenshaw and our entire WKA staff for sacrificing their time and effort for the sake of service to our fine community. It has been an honor to serve with you and I eagerly look forward to doing it all over again at the World Championships in Italy later this year.

Excitement Of Competition,
Challenges Presented Motivate Brothers Towards Titles

Travis Guy Sports Reporter - www.verdenews.com

In the coming weeks, the Golden Cobra Center of Fitness will be putting on another card of kickboxing, boxing and muay thai fights with hopes of raising funds to travel for a competition in Florida over the summer.

"We're a non-profit, so doing fund-raising and events gets to help the gym with travel,"
said gym owner Richard Williams,
"We're trying to go to Florida this year, so that's our main focus, all the fund raisers, hopefully we can make a little bit and put it towards our trip to Florida"

Williams, the only International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) approved promoter in Arizona, will be hosting the event at his gym, hoping for an exciting slate of fights with a card that is headlined by two title fights. The top two fights are not only for gold; they feature two brothers that have been competing and training for a good portion of their life.

"I figured we would just do it here and try to do it a little bit low overhead,"
Williams said.
"See what we can do and try to raise some money and bring home some more titles for golden cobra."

Saxon Vaughn, 15, and his 17-year-old brother Dakota Vaughn will be headlining the card. For Dakota, this is his first shot at a belt after having two kickboxing matches, while this is Saxon's second title fight.

"I'm just looking forward to getting there, feeling the excitement again and doing what I know and doing what I do best,"
Dakota said.
"This is my first title shot, so I'm really excited. I haven't really fought for a belt like this and this caliber, so I'm pretty excited."

The Vaughn brothers have been actively participating in some type of combat sport, whether it be wrestling, boxing or kickboxing, for the better part of a decade. Their father, Bob Vaughn, began teaching them when they were young as a way to learn self-defense and keep them busy, but left the option to continue the sports up to them when they were old enough,

"My dad started teaching us at a young age, around 5. He wanted us to know some basics and he said once we get good, it's up to us whether or not to continue, but he just wanted to teach us the basics."

There are many reasons people continue in sports, and for the Vaughn brothers, the excitement of one-on-one competition and the physical and mental aspects of the game are what keep them training.

"I like the excitement of it,"
Saxon said.
"In combat sports, it's one-on-one, like in football, and team sports like that, you can rely on a teammate. In fighting, it's just you out there and you got to be ready, you got to be ready to fight."

For the oldest Vaughn, the mental aspect is what draws him to kickboxing.

"It's more of a mindset than a physical ability, because everyone's built different. That's why I like these sports, because it's not like football where you're matched up differently, somebody's [possibly] bigger than you. You're matched up at the same weight, so it's just will power and how to get it done."

While there may be some controversy over whether or not children should compete in this type of sport, it is the natural progression of training. It puts the children into a positive environment and it helps keep them out of trouble.

"[Training] keeps them busy,"
Williams said.
"It keeps these kids busy, off the streets and away from the bad elements. You keep them in a safe environment, help them to train, train hard and achieve goals. Its not just every day you get to... you got to earn your way to a title."

Once the competitors have earned their way to a title, it can drive them to keep going and strive for another. "It's a great feeling,"
the younger Vaughn said.
"I've already won one title fight, so I'm looking forward to getting this next belt."

The event will be March 23, at the Golden Cobra Fitness Center, 24 N. Main St.

For more information, please contact the gym at (928) 300-0281.

The Dragon...
IS BACK!

Well we have known about this for quite some time now and today it became Official. Winner of 11 Professional Kickboxing Titles including the IKF World Title in 1999, Don "The Dragon" Wilson. has been signed to step back in the ring again! The bout will take place this coming Fall (September - October) as part of an exciting night of IKF sanctioned Kickboxing in Istanbul, Turkey.

Wilson's bout will be a 10 round non title bout under K-1 rules. "I am very excited because although I am 58 years old and have not fought for over 10 years, I still miss the lifestyle...training, sparring, etc." Said Wilson. "I will fly to Istanbul March 19th for the Press Conference."

While some action movie stars like Van Damme (See article below) continue to talk about doing a Kickboxing bout, Wilson will be stepping into the ring again... At age 58. For those worried about Wilson's health, of course he will need to complete all the necessary fighter physicals the IKF has in place, but his health was the last thing the IKF was concerned with. As we mentioned in the article below, every year for the last 10+ years Wilson gets a full fight physical "Just in case" a fight offer comes across the table. Oh and in case your wondering, he's past these physicals with the fitness and health of a 25 year old every time. Well, that offer has come, and has been confirmed with a purse deposit as well.

Up next for Wilson will be a major press conference in Istanbul on March 19th. Somewhere between now and mid summer, the Istanbul promoters and the IKF will be confirming Wilson's opponent. Again, this will not be a title fight, so selecting a top contender will not be a priority. Although Wilson has made it clear, he doesn't want some slouch or a bum!

So what if Wilson wins? Well, one would think it would be 1 and done for him, but Wilson has other plans. We can't say when or where, but there is an attached plan to Wilson's decision to get back in the ring again. More on this as things develop. We will keep you all posted here with more "Dragon" news as we learn it. In the mean time, maybe someone should tell Van Damme that Wilson's looking for an opponent, and unless he wants to fight a fighter who is currently on a downward slide, he can always jump in the ring with "The Dragon." Just one thing though... Make sure you tell him that this will be no movie fight. This is real Kickboxing, and "The Dragon" only fights to win... Preferably by KO!

Reflect & Remember
Steve Fossum

So, today is my birthday, and I'd like to thank all of you once again that sent me birthday wishes.
Still, this day greets me with mixed emotions as related to some who have past before us.
So instead of making this day about me, I wanted to remember just a few individuals who either directly or indirectly made myself, and in a way, all of us better, because of who these individuals were and how they touched our lives.

Today a Great Man, and Great Champion
was laid to rest.
This past Wednesday, February 27th, 2013, at the young age of 43, we lost Kickboxing Champion

Ramon "The Diamond" Dekkers

According to sources, Dekkers was training on his bicycle (Not a Motorcycle, a regular bike)
and he collapsed in a tunnel after feeling light headed and never regained consciousness again.
A few bystanders attempted to assist him using CPR before emergency services arrived who
also attempted to revive him, but to no avail.

The final determined cause of death was a heart attack.

We created and will always have a special memorial page about Ramon you can find
HERE

Also, today would have been the 69th birthday of World Karate & Kickboxing Champion

Joe Lewis.

Joe was diagnosed with brain cancer on July 15th, 2012 and underwent surgery on July 18, 2012.

Sadly, he passed away at 10:45 AM on Friday, August 31st, 2012,
surrounded by family and friends at the age of 68 years old.

We created and will always have a special memorial page about Joe you can find
HERE.

A few years back on March 7th, 2006 in Duarte, California, Martial Artist and former
Karate, Kickboxing & Boxing Champion

Howard Jackson

passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Howard would have bee 55 I believe.
We created and will always have a special memorial page about Howard you can find
HERE.

Over the years, we would often get people asking things such as "Who was…" or "What happened to…" So we created our past Champion pages HERE.

Still, there were others who were not former IKF Champions that we wanted to give recognition to as well. So, we started our "Where Are They Now" page. What we didn't plan was a section called "Gods Champions" as part of that page. Those above and others can be found there. We will continue to create more info pages of past stars of the fight sports on this page and hopefully our Gods Champions section won't outgrow the Champion Links section. You can see our "Where Are They Now" page by clicking this link
HERE

As each and every one of us celebrate life today and every day, lets not forget those we know or knew personally or indirectly that made an impact on our lives in some way whether gone from us or still here today. So as I again Thank Everyone for the many Birthday wishes, maybe there's someone else in your life you may want to send a hello wish to as well. Make every day a birthday for everyone, and wish him or her the best. In time, all of us will be gone, and maybe by then we could earn the right to be one of God's Champions.

But until then, "You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, Love like you'll never be hurt, Sing like there's nobody listening, And live like it's heaven on earth."
Or, as the song goes…

Can You Call This A
REAL FIGHT?

Although this is old news, we want to tie it in with some NEW News...

The "Drama' of all this started back in 2010. Action film star (Claimed Kickboxer) Jean Claude Van Damme was going to actually FIGHT. WHAAAAT you say? Yes, he was. it was suppose to take place in December of 2012. Well as everyone is aware, the fight did not happen. However, there was plenty of talk about it. They even started a Facebook page for the fight - Click HERE.

The news piece below was written just this past December 8th, 2012 by combat-asia.com. The site was giving more press to Van Damme's claim that he was still going to fight in a real fight. At the time we saw it, we didn't give it much credit. However, we have an interesting tie-in that is one of those "Offers you can't refuse" for the action star... However, if we were a betting man, we would bet he would turn the offer down....

It's not that we don't like Jean Claude Van Damme's movies. It's just that we can't stand when ANY person makes claims they can't back up, and most likely never will or, claims that according to most, of something they never did. Enough is Enough Jean... If you are going to continue to "Milk" this story, it's time you do something about it instead of just talking about it. As the saying goes, "Put up or Shut Up!" However, if your REALLY interesting in "Putting UP", we have an opponent to remind you of below...

First, here is the story, then our add on below it...

Jean Claude Van Damme
Wants to Fight Somluck Kimsing in December 2013

Jean Claude Van Damme was at Lumpinee Stadium last night to see Somluck Kamsing's decision loss to fellow veteran Jomhod Kiatadisak and made it clear that he still hopes to fight the Olympic Gold Medalist. Van Damme was in Kamsing's corner for the fight with Jomhod and also offered a few words of encouragement to his prospective adversary backstage, apologizing that the much anticipated fight had yet to materialize.

Speaking exclusively to Combat Asia he said,
"The only reason the fight didn't happen was that I was filming the Expendables 2. I want to fight him next December in either Thailand or the Middle East and we will film episodes of me and him training for a website and the fight itself will also be shown live on the website so we should get 50 or 60 million viewers."

One potential stumbling block could be Expendables 3 which is being filmed next year and, according to Van Damme, might mean the fight with Kamsing won't happen until January 2014. He said he had no idea where he would be training but was adamant he was serious about getting in the ring with Kamsing and that had it not been for Expendables 2 the fight would already have taken place.

Van Damme caused some controversy when he ignored warnings from officials to leap into the ring during the break between rounds in Kamsing's fight with Jomhod. Kamsing already had two cornermen at the time but the star of famous 80s movies like Blood Sport and Kickboxer was determined to try and cool him down with a towel and refused to leave even when instructed to do so by the referee.

Unfortunately even the support of a famous Hollywood movie star was not enough to inspire Kamsing to victory in the fight which had a three million Baht bet riding on its outcome. The man who won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta faded badly in the final two rounds and was outworked by Jomhod who seemed to be in much better condition.
___________________________________

OK, so that was all the "Guts and Glory" Van Damme was sharing 3 months ago... Fast Forward to today...

There is still no plans for this bout to ever take place. It appears to only be a lot of "Publicity Posturing" by an action file star trying to better his name as an actual "Fighter". Well, lets face it, taking any fight for Van Damme would most likely be a terrible career move. He has "Everything to lose and Nothing to gain..." Well, almost nothing... There is that "Credibility as a Fighter thing... ;). But who cares! Van Damme! Your making loads as an action star, WHY risk your "Perceived" reputation at all? You lose in a real fight and people will remember you only for "That Fight!" Sure, if you win, you may gain a bit, but that would depend on WHO you fight. Why not fight someone who's a fellow Action File star that has something you DON'T! Credibility as a fighter...

Enter Don "The Dragon" Wilson.
Wilson has listened to just about enough of Van Damme's BS and he's made it public MANY times, that he'd like to see Van Damme put his feet and fist ahead of his mouth. Wilson's challenge to Van Damme still stands! However, the real joke here is that Van Damme continues to play this off as a joke. Hey, Jean... It's NO JOKE! You DODGING Wilson is the JOKE!

As for their age? Well, Every year for the last 10+ years Wilson gets a full fight physical "Just in case" a fight offer comes across the table. Oh and in case your wondering, he's past these physicals with the fitness and health of a 25 year old every time. We can't speak for Van Damme. However, the fact that he won't fight Wilson does tell us who the REAL KICKBOXER and an Action Film Star is between the two of them...

Don's awaiting your call Jean...

Superstars Align For Glory 8 Tokyo
Featherweight 'Slam' Kickboxing Tournament Friday, May 3rd

Abdellah Ezbiri, Mosab Amrani, Marcus Vinicius and Road To GLORY Japan Winner
Slated For Action In Eight-Man, Single-Elimination Tournament.

Mike Afromowitz - SINGAPORE (March 3, 2013)
GLORY, the world's new premier kickboxing league, will return to Tokyo, Japan with a one-night, eight-man 'Slam' tournament featuring a collection of the brightest stars in the featherweight (65 kilograms/143 pounds) division, at Ariake Coliseum on Friday, May 3.

Three-time French kickboxing champion Abdellah Ezbiri (32-6, 11 KOs) of Morocco via France, world Muay Thai champion Mosab "The Jaguar" Amrani (48-7-4, 14 KOs) of Holland and KO artist Marcus Vinicius of Brazil have all been enlisted for the single-elimination affair.

Joining the first three elite fighters thus far confirmed for the tournament that will award its competitors with a total of $180,000 in prize money, including $100,000 to the winner, will be the victor of the inaugural, eight-man, development series ROAD TO GLORY Japan tournament at Differ Ariake Arena in Tokyo on Sunday, March 10, as well as four additional competitors to be announced soon.

Tickets for GLORY 8 Tokyo on Friday, May 3, beginning at 16:00 at Ariake Coliseum.

"With the fighter selection process for the GLORY 8 Tokyo featherweight Slam tournament underway, we are assembling what could very well be the most competitive tournament field in the history of kickboxing's featherweight division," said GLORY Sports International Managing Director Marcus Luer. "We are bringing together the best possible group of talent from all parts of the world in order to determine who the reigning king of this division is."

The 25-year-old Ezbiri has made waves both in his native Europe as well as in Japan where he was the winner of another eight-man tournament in 2011 and finished as runner-up after a controversial decision loss in the championship stage of a 67 kilogram/148 pound tournament at the hands of Japanese phenom Yuta Kubo on Jan. 14.

Amrani, a 25-year-old, former intercontinental Muay Thai champion, rose to power after stopping Thai champions Anuwat Kaewsamrit and Bovy Sor Udomson in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Amrani also boasts a victory over Moroccan southpaw phenom Ibrahim Chiahou. His tournament start marks a drop in weight after a stint at 70 kilograms/154 pounds.
