Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA will again be the place of a terrific second edition of Grand Strand Fight Nights- IKF Championship Kickboxing! GSFN will be held at the Crown Reef Resort Conference Center.

They are looking to host at least two great title defenses including introducing some talented up and coming fighters in the area to complete a full evening of action! Matching will start in the coming weeks for the undercard.

One title defense will be undefeated in Kickboxing and Boxing expert with over 30 boxing matches - IKF Lightweight Amateur World Champion...Anna Crutchfield of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, USA who is looking forward to taking on the best in her weight class for her International Rules title defense.

We are currently vetting contenders for this bout. If you think you have a 127lbs 132lbs female fighter with an impressive record in Kickboxing etc. regardless of what credible organization she is a contender for and she is ready for this opportunity... We are interested in her!

Based on her winning streak lately, if she defeats her opponent in February, we may have to take her to even higher ground in regards to a bigger divisional title!

The 2016 IKF World Classic will be the 18th Year of this Prestigious Tournament. Like last year, our focus was on keeping the costs down for the participant of this event, which seems to be harder and harder to do every year.

The Hotel market nationwide is on a drastic increase, which made the decision on location for the 2016 event even harder to negotiate. Especially in the number one holiday destination in the world, Orlando, Florida.

Hotels in Orlando that use to give us room rates between $129 and $139 a night are now asking, and getting fees for those same rooms for prices like $179 to $225 a night. Although we could have signed on the dotted line with one of these resort locations, we stuck to our goal of making the World Classic affordable. we also kept in mind what many brought to our attention 2 years ago and more so this year. To please find a location closer to more restaurants and other activities within walking distance. Well, we accomplished this last year, and continued to do so for the 2016 IKF World Classic.

After months of negotiating with several Hotels, we came to the conclusion that the location that offered the best deal for all involved was once again, the same location we selected for last years 2015 IKF World Classic. Especially since they're doing some major renovations during the winter and spring months ... Over 30 Million in renovations...

THAN ANY OTHER TOURNAMENT

The majority of the tournaments around the world would like everyone to believe that the big win is in the number of registered fighters. However, the REAL WIN is the number of fighters who "Show-Up" to actually compete. Some hide these numbers by only posting the Champion and second place finishers. Since the first IKF Tournament, we have always posted EVERY CONTENDER on our results pages (CLICK HERE). With this in mind, of the 358 who have registered for this years IKF World Classic, 332 are still on schedule to "Show-Up' and actually "Walk the Walk!"

To give you a perspective of drops, in that record breaking year of 2010, of the 320 who registered, 268 were how many fighters that showed up to "Walk the Walk!" Here is a breakdown of the past 14 years with total number of registered fighters listed first. Those who showed up second and the number of dropped as a percentage number.

As you can see, it's not always about the number of registered fighters. It's about "HOW MANY" actually show up to "Walk The Walk" and meet up Face to Face to compete with their peers. Last year the IKF World Classic numbers dropped below 80% because like in 2012, we had a lot of fighters switch to semi contact point kickboxing. The fighters who compete in the IKF Point Kickboxing are not included in the "Show Up" numbers. If so we would average between 9 to 14% higher.

The bottom line here is, "Fighters SHOW-UP" to the IKF World Classic!

As one trainer put it, "Just showing up, and being placed in the results is a big plus on a fighters resume. And to win it... Even more."

Keep in mind this. The IKF World Classic is not the only thing the IKF does year around. The IKF is not just a "Regional" sanctioning body. The IKF is Worldwide, and being so draws a lot more credibility and recognition to the IKF World Classic Champions as well as contenders. There are plenty of places fighters can win titles today, However, when you win an IKF Title, or an IKF World Classic Title, You'll be remembered as a Champion Forever!

Fresh off the heels of his most successful IKF East Coast Classic Tournament to date (See Results Below), Johnny Davis and his AK Promotions staff is getting set for the first of many shows in their Grand Stand Kickboxing Series starting Saturday, December 5th, 2015 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!

Davis has always shown a passion for helping Amateur fighters get their start on their way to the Sports Professional Headline events. Just a couple of those individuals include Xavier Vigney (Right) now with Glory and Ed Absolo (Left) who has found a home with the Pro Muay Thai Promotion Lion Fights. Both won several IKF Titles with AK Promotions as well as the IKF Amateur World Titles in their weightclasses before turning Professional.

October 9th, 10th 2015 - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA



A.K. Promotions and 2X World Champion, Johnny "Superfoot" Davis hosted the 3rd installment of the IKF East Coast Kickboxing Classic at the Crown Reef Hotel in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on October 10th, 2015. It was by far the best in the series. A bigger venue, a nicer location and a better tournament than the previous two, Johnny has his work cut out for him to top it next year but you can bet he's already working on it.

Fighters from Costa Rica, Trinidad-Tobago, Utah, Nevada, Kentucky, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland and Alabama fought in Modified Muay Thai, International and Unified Kickboxing rules in a one day tournament which included 40 competitive fights. If that wasn't enough, after the full contact tournament, Johnny hosted an exciting IKF PKB (Point Kickboxing) tournament for fighters who wanted to display their skills in that arena and there too, we saw some of the best fights of the weekend!

At The IKF East Coast Classic!

This year's IKF East Coast Classic tournament was a blast at the new location of Myrtle Beach South Carolina! The IKF Point Kickboxing tournament held after the day time tournament as always, held its own!

Some of the best fights took place that night in the IKF PKB tournament as men, women and juniors gave their all to show they were the best in semi contact Kickboxing action! Congratulations to Mr. Keith Morreira IKF Point Kickboxing Promoter in Jacksonville, Florida. He promoted his first event yesterday at the Combat Athletix Club located at 307 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, Florida, USA. Well organized and exciting semi contact Muay Thai / Kickboxing action was witnessed by those in attendance.

Although not a large group for the first event, competitors were allowed to fight in a round-robin to assure everyone got what they came for…some excellent sparring and opportunity to groom their Muay Thai / Kickboxing techniques. Everyone left satisfied and excited about future events.…mission accomplished!

Mr. Morreira showed that he is serious about growing the IKF/PKB events in the area and by the remarks of those there, he will be successful with many more events to come!
