      Sarah Worsfold embarked on what was to be a career defining performance against the UK number 1 and World Champion Claire Clements. Worsfold arrived as the highly decorated amateur champion, and with few opponents either available or willing to face her, she stepped straight into a shot at the IKF European title. From the outset she made her intentions clear to take immediate control of the contest. But Claire Clements is not the number one ranked fighter for nothing and had answers to most of Worsfolds work. The low kick exchanges were vicious but it was Worsfolds punch combinations that controlled the action. Clements seemed a little flat footed as she struggled with the pace and by the 3rd round Worsfold was in control with her opponents left side (leg and body) taking plenty of shots and beginning to bruise up. A spinning back fist landed on Clements but she remained steadfast and unfazed. You had to think that she had something to unleash at any moment but Worsfold was unconcerned and continued to drop in solid low kicks. You could see that she was also affected by low kicks but she was not to be denied. A heavy close up exchange in the 4th saw Clements emerge with a cut. She signalled that she had been butted but this seemed unlikely to be deliberate. However, a quick inspection and away we went again with no more complaining. To finish Worsfold opened up in the final round to make sure that here first visit to the paid ranks was one that people would remember. It was certainly that as she emerged as the champion, winning every round on every card!

      With the main event off the card due to weight issues, this contest became the top of the bill for the evening. And what a fantastic clash it was. It would be fair to say that despite her record, Emma Hepple has mixed with good class opponents during her career, showing no fear and learning each time. Charlie Potts is also a seasoned amateur and so the scene was set. Both fighters wasted no time and came straight at each other giving us an absolute war rom start to finish. Potts attempted to keep some range throughout but Hepple was having none of it, dragging her back into the trenches each time. The tempo was high and you would be forgiven for thinking that this would end early one way or another. In the second round towards the end a huge body shot caught Hepple and she took a count. Recovering she came straight back out for the third and applied the pressure again. But Potts used her skills well and clocked up the points with tough combinations. Despite the lop sided score card, the tally did not show how close each round was. On this occasion it was congratulations to the new champion Charlie Potts, but Emma Hepple will no doubt come again.

Congratulations to all the fighters who fought their hearts out on Friday, March 9th at the Crown Reef Conference Center! All of them showed tremendous heart and great sportsmanship! We at AK Promotions and the IKF are thankful for their attendance and showmanship!

The Main Event of the evening would be for the IKF Junior Amateur United States Featherweight Title at 127lbs! Three of the top juniors in the United States including Puerto, Arizona and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA, trained hard and did not let anyone down as all of them gave a great effort to show why our sport of Muay Thai / Kickboxing has a bright future!

Names of the aforementioned three contenders were pulled on Thursday Night at the Early weigh in... between 7:PM- 8:PM for the Junior Featherweight Title to determine who would fight first.

Hines and Rossi fought in the preliminary fight with Hines of Arizona winning a tough Unanimous Decision over Rossi! Hines would later return to fight the undefeated Angel A Carranza who would win a Unanimous Decision but Hines gave a valiant attempt to take the tile back to Arizona.

Carranza has the poise of a true champion! He has everything it takes to go to the top of his division! This young man was impressive in every way and we look forward to anyone in the United States at the 127lbs weight class with a proven record challenging him for his IKF United States Title in October (5th and 6th) of this year back in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the 6th Annual IKF Fall Muay Thai / Kickboxing Classic!

Saturday Night, March 10th, 2018 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, IKF Top Contender Luis Morales of West Palm Beach, Florida did his talking in the ring by defeating the rather bodacious, talented but respectful Brandon Waters for the Certified IKF United Welterweight Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at the Crown Reef Conference Center.

The fight was the main event of 80+ amateur fights over the weekend for the 2nd Annual IKF Spring Eastern Classic hosted by AK Promotions and the International Kickboxing Federation ( IKF ). AK Promotions and the IKF were thankful for all of the fighters and fans that made it to the event and gave great representation for our sport of Muay Thai / Kickboxing!

After Morales gave Waters a standing eight count earlier in the fight, he would go on to ultimately win by Unanimous Decision. Luis thanked everyone for assisting him in reaching one of his goals including his trainer Asa Ten Pow but what stood out was him thanking his wife for putting up with the crap and emotional roller coaster one goes through while in training. Thanking his wife makes it clear that Morales is not only the man to beat in the Welterweight division but that he also has a big heart and great respect for this special woman in his life!

We're looking forward to having him defend his title in October for the IKF Fall Classic and perhaps by the Spring Classic in 2019, step him up to a World title fight, if he is able to hold on to his current IKF United States Title or if he's still available as we know other promoters are watching. :) We will see but trust us...we promote our champions hard and try to give them what they deserve...enough said there...:)

We will start looking for contenders for in the coming weeks for USA Title Defense but you better be ready as Luis does his talking in the ring and he is VERY LOUD! J

Here's a great fight between two great Fighters:

Both went on to later become IKF World Champions, but this bout was for Don's WKA World title. With our IKF World Ambassador Brooks Mason working Don's corner, check out this classic.

The Backstage Story on this bout:
March 1984 Miami, Florida televised on NBC Sportsworld....
It was the only fight in Don's 28 year career that he "canceled" due to injury-sickness. He had the Flu going into the fight and called the promoter to reschedule the fight. Howard Hansen, then President of the WKA, informed Don that he "would never fight on Network TV again" if he "backed out" of the fight." How sick was Don? As Don says; "How sick would you have to be to say "NO" to Chuck Norris when he asked me to have dinner with him the night before the fight? When he heard I could not get out of bed for dinner he asked me how I was going to fight 12 rounds the next day."

Yesterday, we had another fun IKF Point Muay Thai Sparring event at Mr. Don Rodger's Apex Martial Arts Center in Apex, NC! It was nice meeting several new gyms that came out to witness what all the noise is about in this fantastic semi contact sport that's making it's way across the United States! From young to old, men, women and juniors are cutting their teeth in a competition that challenges their techniques in boxing, kicking, knees a well as their stamina and so much more!

One might guess that most in attendance had a good time and found the IKF/PKB to be a safe and effective way to groom their fighters for the next level. Also would like to thank Mr. Marshall and one of his clubs from Goldsboro, NC for coming out for the first time. His group also won the most competitor award for the event.

Special thanks to our officials: Mr. Dale Sunshine Frye and Mr. Shaun Woods for doing a great job refereeing the event. Also thanks to our judges Trevor Hayes, Jeff Purefoy, Dean Scott and Mr. Ron Hilton who also served as a judge and Medical Personal for their assistance.
