IKF World Classic Update! CANADA WINS AGAIN! You Can't Be
FIRST...
This Year Welterweight Muay Thai Fighter
Last year at the 2018 IKF World Classic Mueller finished 3rd in the Adult Mens Welterweight (142.1 - 147) Open Muay Thai Rules division losing to eventual champion Ethan Geffen of Bayside, New York, USA (16-5) by unanimous decision. Mueller has set his sites on the belt this year with a strong focus and early commitment to the Tournament. The 37 year old Mueller is also a former IKF Amateur Modified Muay Thai Rules British Columbia Welterweight Champion winning that title on August 14th, 2010 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada when he defeated Johnny Williams by split decision. He's also a former ISKA Super Welterweight World Champion (2013). Last year the first 2018 IKF World Classic registered fighter was Travis Schmalz of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. In 2017 it was Ian Zarvos of St Peters, Missouri, USA. In 2016 it was Bradley LaPrairie and his brother Travis LaPrairie of Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. This years IKF World Classic will be the 21st Anniversary of the Tournament which was the first ever open invitation Amateur Muay Thai & Kickboxing Tournament (1999) and the longest running Open Amateur Muay Thai & Kickboxing Tournament in North America. Believe it or not, the IKF had decided after the 20th Anniversary 2018 World Classic Tournament this past year, that the 2018 Classic was going to be the last one ending with 20 Great years. However with such overwhelming support to continue the event and a great relationship with the host Hyatt Hotel, the IKF decided in late October to keep the Tournament alive. So Leigh Mueller is the First!
For those READY, we will see you in Orlando Florida this August!

"And the NEW!" Former 4 Time IKF Kickboxing Champion Caleb Plant made us all proud on Sunday night in the main event of the Premier Boxing Champions card at the Microsoft Theatre at L.A. Live in Los Angeles Caleb Plant (Now 18-0, 10 KOs) reached the pinnacle of his career goals in winning his World Title in Professional Boxing. In his 18th Pro Boxing bout he fought Bolivian José Uzcátegui, (28-3, 23 KOs) the current IBF Champion. Plant dominated the bout in the first 8 rounds on his way to a unanimous decision win. Plant not only won the a 168 Middleweight World title but he did so, as his nickname noted, with "Sweet Hands". Knocking Uzcategui down twice, in the second and fourth rounds, with lightning-quick left hooks. "I've worked my whole lifetime for this, 17 years straight," Plant said, tears flowing. "I buried my daughter in the process of trying to get this belt. I promised her that I would become world champion and bring her this title, and that's exactly what I'm going to go back to Tennessee and do. Nashville, stand up," he shouted in reference to his hometown. Plant lost his 19-month-old daughter, Alia, in 2015 to a rare disease. He has been fighting for her ever since. Uzcategui, 28, also lost a 3-year-old daughter several years ago from a heart defect. Both fighters have drawn inspiration from their misfortune. This fight was originally scheduled for last August, but Plant broke his left hand during training camp, pushing the date back. He showed no ill-effects on this night. Plant moved beautifully early on, beating Uzcategui to the punch and scoring with a strong jab. Uzcategui missed often, as Plant ducked and feinted and slipped punches while landing to the head and body, looking almost Floyd Mayweather-like in the process. It's no coincidence that Plant, who now resides in Las Vegas, has spent much time at the Mayweather Boxing Club. A counter left hook in the middle of an exchange dropped an off-balance Uzcategui down in the second, only the third time in his career. He rose, seemingly unhurt, and continued to stalk the challenger, who peppered him in the process. Early in the fourth, a bad cut opened over Plant's right eye. The American showed grit, fighting through it although it times it appeared to impair his vision. Energized by seeing blood, Uzcategui began letting his hands go. Midway through the stanza, they traded hooks. Both landed; Plant's punch was significantly harder, driving Uzcategui across the ring and to the mat. This time, when he rose, his legs appeared unsteady. However, Plant didn't press his advantage, sticking to his game plan of a smart, outside fight. Plant continued to pile up the points as the fight progressed. He landed an assortment of shots to the head and body, leading and countering, almost at will. And his defense was sublime. Uzcategui was game but flummoxed. He rebounded in the ninth, rocking Plant with a short right uppercut on the inside. The challenger wisely clinched to survive the follow-up onslaught. After losing the tenth, Plant bounced back in the eleventh, showing skill in close quarters and beating Uzcategui to the punch at a distance. After the final bell, Plant jumped on the ropes, raising both arms in history. He had finally realized his dream.

"NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS"
January 5th, 2019 - Rudd, Iowa, USA
Beastmode Productions and Mr. Darrius Flowers hosted their inaugural International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) full contact kickboxing event on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Rudd Gym in Rudd, Iowa. It was a packed house where fight fans from all over North Central Iowa came hungry to see local fighters and another fighter from Minnesota face off in International Rules kickboxing competition.
It was exciting to see the majority of the fighters step up to compete on a card where it was their very first full contact fight. As it turned out, some fighters didn't make weight or couldn't fight for personal reasons so the promoter ended up putting together 3 exhibition bouts to warm the crowd up for the main card.
